Philosophy

Everyone wants to look and feel their best.  External beauty has psychological benefits and is indeed an important factor in our self-confidence.  At Fairhope Aesthetic Medicine, we strive to help patients achieve their goals of beauty while acknowledging that true beauty and sense of worth can only be derived from the knowledge that as human beings we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of our Creator (Psalm 139: 14 and Genesis 1: 27).

The word “aesthetics” originates from the Greek aisthetikos, meaning “of sense perception”.  The philosophical science of aesthetics is concerned with beauty or the appreciation of beauty.  The medical science of aesthetics involves knowledge of anatomy and physiology, biochemical pathways, and treatment plans. At Fairhope Aesthetic Medicine,  we combine the philosophical and medical science of aesthetics to provide each patient with a uniquely personalized experience.

“I can appreciate from personal experience how a professional medical grade skin care regimen helps create and maintain skin health and reduces signs of aging.  Likewise, as a physician, I recognize the importance of implementing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for overall physical health, well-being, and disease prevention.” – Holly Pursley, M.D., M.S.P.H.

Services and Procedures

Skin Care, Chemical Peels, Masques

At Fairhope Aesthetic Medicine, we provide innovative daily skin care solutions and treatment protocols that create and maintain healthy skin and reduce visible signs of aging.  We use the latest and most innovative line of medical skin care products created by Zein Obagi, M.D. to treat fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, age spots, and acne.  These ZO skin health products can be purchased only through a physician provider.

We offer in office chemical peels to help improve overall skin tone and texture, pigmentation correction, and provide anti-aging benefits.

In office treatment masques deliver superior brightening benefits to promote a more even skin tone.

Frown Lines

As we age, our skin loses some of its elasticity.  Repeated contractions of the muscles between the eyebrows can cause persistent frown lines.  Patients can have their frown lines treated to improve their appearance through the use of botulinum toxin.  At Fairhope Aesthetic Medicine, we recognize that this injectable drug is a prescription medicine, to be administered only in a clinical setting.

Dermal Fillers

Fillers are used to temporarily correct moderate to severe etched in lines, wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (the folds or wrinkles that go from the side of the nose to the corner of the mouth).  They volumize the skin, helping to create a smooth soft result that looks and feels natural to the touch. Fillers can also be used to enhance the appearance of lips and aging hands by restoring lost volume. Dr. Pursley is a certified injector for Radiesse for hands.

Lifestyle Counseling

In addition to comprehensive and continuous therapeutic and preventive solutions for every skin type, patients are asked and counseled about lifestyle factors that affect their overall health, including diet, exercise, smoking cessation, protection from the sun’s harmful UV rays, and preventive measures such as Pap smears, mammograms, and other cancer screenings. Referrals are made as needed.
